This course is designed to meet the NFPA 1041 (2019) Standard for Fire Service Instructor Professional Qualifications, Instructor 1 Level. This course includes instructor and student presentations throughout the course covering the first eight chapters of the Fire and Emergency Services Instructor 3rd Edition text from Jones and Bartlett Learning. Significant student preparation and homework are required before the first day of class.

• Must be a current member or have been a member within the last five years of an organized Michigan Fire Department
• Must possess a Fire Fighter I and II certification

The Fire Officer II course is designed to equip fire service personnel with the skills and knowledge to develop comprehensive training programs for their agency, including creating detailed lesson plans, setting learning objectives, developing evaluation tools, and effectively supervising other instructors. This course is based on the NFPA 1041 standard for Fire Service Instructor Professional Qualifications.
