RAFT is a consortium of fire departments and community colleges designed to improve the quality of training for all public safety officials. Training courses are offered to anyone interested in attending an event, RAFT member or not.
RAFT offers several types of classes including Safety Officer, Arson Investigation, Risk Management, Fire Inspector, Company Officer, Mass Casualty, and Extrication.
Do you have a suggestion for a class or seminar that you might like to attend? Please send us an e-mail with your idea and we'll get back with you: raft911@earthlink.net
Basic Membership Information
Are you interested in joining RAFT? Here is some of the general information you'll need to make your decision.
Initial membership dues are $1500 for the first year. Each year after that they are $200.
We offer "Buy One, Get One" up to two people free for the majority of classes offered. Generally, you get your dues money back after the first few seminars.
Any RAFT member can suggest a class and/or a speaker they'd like to see, and we will go about making that happen (as long as it is a marketable event.)
We have a set of Guiding Principles that are available for downloading below. As a RAFT member, you must agree with these principles.
The RAFT Executive Board meets about four times a year to discuss issues surrounding the Association. Subcommittees meet more often, depending on the nature of the event taking place.
If you are interested, you need only to send a Letter of Interest to us, stating that you have read the Guiding Principles and agree with them. We then invoice you for the initial dues. There are no secret handshakes. We trust our members to pay and participate.
RAFT is a very non-bureaucratic group. We can act fast and not get caught in red tape.
